Frederick Wildman & Sons is the third largest wine importer in the United States.
Wildman, Frederick & Sons had its 65th anniversary in 1999, it celebrated as the third largest importer in the U. S. But with all of its growth, the familiar Wildman logo--created by the Colonel himself and found on each bottle Wildman sells--is still recognized around the country as a symbol of quality. The company has become what Cacciato calls, “the biggest little wine company in America.”
In 1825, Francesco Folonari founded his eponymous winemaking firm in Valmonica in the Veneto, and Folonari has since built a reputation producing correctly made wines of consistent quality to be enjoyed on an everyday basis. Pinot Noir is quite versatile, perhaps the most versatile red wine grape. Many sommeliers and wine aficionados love it because there’s almost no dish it doesn’t compliment. A few years ago, it became fashionable to drink Pinot with sushi and now many top sushi restaurants have Pinot Noir on the list.
