Just across from Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, the Wollersheim Winery sits on a scenic hillside overlooking the Wisconsin River. This national historic site was first selected for vineyards in the 1840's by the Hungarian Count Agoston Haraszthy.
There are 23 acres of planted vineyards on the Wollersheim estate at Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. Most of the acreage is devoted to winter hardy French-American hybrids and some experimental vitis viniferas. Our main grape is called Marechal Foch. It is a very reliable and versatile variety.
