Unlike most coffee companies, we actually grow our own coffee on our organic coffee farm in Panama, and our green coffee buyer personally inspects each and every other organic farm with which we have relationships. We believe an intimate knowledge of coffee farming as well as healthy, direct relationships with coffee communities makes the highest quality beans. Healthy communities do not just start and end with an organic environment, however, because poverty is rampant in most parts of the world where coffee is grown. To break the cycle of poverty in our partner communities, we started our Community Aid program that has built schools, provided teacher salaries, established medical clinics, and set up children’s meal programs among many other charitable works. We often establish these programs in communities where no Fair Trade cooperatives exist, and so the community cannot take advantage of any Fair Trade benefits. Though we do offer Fair Trade certified coffees here on our website, you can be assured that all of our coffees are crafted with a concern for the people who bring them to us.
