Premise Maid Chocolates was founded in 1979 by William Damiano, a chemical engineer. Our humble beginnings included a 700 square foot store, one employee and a rent and utility bill of $230 per month!
In 1984 Premise Maid purchased a farmstead consisting of a barn, a carriage house, and a milk shed on a two acre site. Today, the carriage house functions as the chocolate shoppe and bakery while the barn functions as the Ice creamery and production area for chocolates and over 40 flavors of homemade ice cream.
The earliest buildings date back to the late 1700s. Most of the structure have been restored. A bell tower was added to the milk shed and a five foot waterwheel enhance the nostalgic flair of the courtyard.
Presently, Premise Maid has approximately 30 - 45 full and part-time employees. Our chocolate products are made the same way today as when we started 25 years ago. In our kitchens, our staff deliver the freshest and finest products made by hand one batch at a time. Premise Maid chocolates are available at our retail store in Breinigsville, through this website and Specialty shops throughout the Lehigh Valley.
