Primex Farms, LLC. is our new pistachio processing plant located in Wasco, California that has been in production since Sep, 03 2002. Primex Farms was built with the newest modular concept in plant design by allowing ample room for expansion. Situated on 280 acres in the city of Wasco, California, it is centrally located within 100 miles of 90% of the active pistachio orchards in the San Joaquin Valley. This key location gives Primex Farms access to the labor pools located within Wasco, and the city of Bakersfield, a mere half hour drive away. Primex Farms is the first in the industry to incorporate an environmentally "green" concept of recycling solid waste & water. Our plant is designed to be environmentally friendly and efficient. All excess water and solids from the hulling process is pumped to a dewatering station that directs the water to alfalfa fields situated on the property and the solids are spread and disked into the open acreage for drying. This process eliminates any odors associated with decomposition.
