Provena Foods, Inc.. The Company's principal activity is the supply of food products to other food processors, distributors and canners. The Company operates through two segments: Swiss American Sausage Co. division and Royal-Angelus Macaroni Company division. The Company's meat processing business is conducted through the Swiss American Sausage Co. division and its pasta business is conducted through the Royal-Angelus Macaroni Company division. The meat products are sold primarily to pizza restaurant chains, pizza processors and food service distributors. The Company's customers use the pasta to produce retail products in which pasta is an ingredient, such as pasta salads, soups and entrees. The products of the Company are marketed under the trade names: Royal, Vegeroni and Copa di Monte. The Company operates solely in the domestic market. Meat processing division accounted for 85% of 2002 revenues and pasta division, 15%.
