Vinyard Fruit & Vegetable Co. buys the quality of food we would want our family to eat, processes it right, and delivers it fresh to our customers each day.
Vinyard Fruit & Vegetable Co., featuring Jack's Fresh-cut Potatoes and Vinyard's Veggies, is a full service produce processing company based in Oklahoma City. Roy & Pam Vinyard purchased Jack's Potato House in 1969, from Jack Hill, the company's founder. "Jack" began in 900 square foot building with six employees who processed and delivered an estimated 9,000 Pounds of French fries per week to Oklahoma City wholesale clients. Over the next five years, Roy & Pam began offering their customers unprocessed potatoes, onions, and fresh vegetables. They anticipated the "salad bar trend" and in 1976 expanded their product line. They had 12 employees and moved to a 3,000 square foot building. In 1984, they moved to a 15,000 square foot structure at 804 S.W. 2nd Street, the first of the buildings at their current, 40,000 square foot location. In 1993, they began prepackaging selected fruit and vegetables for distribution by retailers. These products are marketed under the brand name, "Vinyard's Veggies". In 1999, they officially changed the name to "Vinyard Fruit & Vegetable Co." to better represent the variety of products and services offered. Of coruse, they still feature 'Jack's fresh cut potatoes' and 'Vinyard's Veggies.' By January 2000, they were processing more than 200,000 pounds of produce weekly. More
