In 1963, Louis Muench, Sr. and his wife Doris, moved to Cumberland with their family from Chicago where Louie was a meat cutter. He took a job with "The Company Store" in Cumberland as Meat Dept. Manager. In 1970, Louie opened his own market, Louie's Finer Meats in downtown Cumberland. In 1978, Louie's moved to their present location on Hwy 63 North in Cumberland.
Through the years, three of the six Muench children have followed in their father's footsteps. Louis Muench, Jr., James Muench and William Muench. You can always count on seeing one or more of the Muench's behind the meat counter, and Doris is either running the register or stocking the produce.
Louis Sr, Doris, Louis Jr, James and William would like to invite you to stop by their store in beautiful Cumberland, Wisconsin. Everyone at Louie's takes the utmost pride in our "home-town atmosphere" and great customer service. Louie's Finer Meats was awarded two GOLD MEDALS at the International Trade Fair, for the meat industry, which was held in Frankfurt, Germany, in May 1995. The sausages were judged by the highest standards for quality of workmanship and flavor. These two sausages, Cotto Salami and Beef Summer Sausages are available at our retail store or on-line.
